1. My cousin at my grandparents house: I like this location because I basically grew up at my grandparents house and it's nice to see that my cousin is having the same experience.
2. A rollercoaster: I like this location because my family and I go to an amusement park every year and it reminds me of summer.
3. A sign at the beach: I like this location because it was when my friend took me to the beach with her family and I have a lot of memories from there.
4. Flowers: I like this location because the flowers are in my backyard which is where I spend a lot of my free time so it's a calming picture for me.
5. My friend and I on my playground: I like this location because the playground reminds me of my childhood.

My goals and intentions with this piece were to make the pumpkins and shadows look as realistic as possible. I accomplished this goal by experimenting with the charcoal, compressed charcoal, eraser, and chalk to find the shades I wanted. What surprised me the most was how the compressed charcoal background made the pumpkins pop. The most difficult challenge I had to face was making the pumpkins realistic meaning not having them look like beachballs with the dark lines and not outlining. I met this challenge by practicing and experimenting with different techniques of drawing the pumpkins. I experienced the shift to right brain artistic thinking when I was making the shadows look as realistic as possible. My drawing really "works" when focusing on the pumpkin in the front. I learned how to make the shadows make the picture more realistic. I learned from Grace on how to shade better. If I had a do-over I would spend more time on the shading in the pumpkins in the background. I feel the best thing about my work is the detail in the pumpkins.
